Three Rounds Change How Muay Thai Odds Move at ONE Championship

A ONE Muay Thai Fight Is Three Rounds Long

A non-title Muay Thai bout at ONE Championship is three rounds of three minutes, with a one-minute break between them. World Championship bouts are five rounds of three minutes. There is nothing in between.

That single line decides more of your bet slip than any form guide will.

3
rounds in a non-title ONE Muay Thai bout, against five at a traditional stadium show

Work through what it removes. An over 4.5 rounds line cannot settle, because a fourth round is never fought. Neither can a round 4 finish, a round 5 finish, or any total priced above three. Plenty of Muay Thai betting pages still list those as the standard markets. They are describing traditional stadium Muay Thai, which is five rounds, and then pointing the reader at a ONE card that is not.

The gloves are the second thing people get wrong. ONE runs Muay Thai in 4-ounce MMA gloves. On the same card, on the same night, ONE kickboxing is fought in 8-ounce gloves at bantamweight and below and 10-ounce at featherweight and above, over the same three rounds. Two bouts back to back, same ring, same length, and a different amount of padding on the hand.

Less padding and fewer rounds is an argument for a fight ending early. It is an argument, not a statistic. Nobody publishes a reliable finish rate for these cards, so a percentage comparing ONE Muay Thai with stadium Muay Thai has no source behind it.

What the Judges Are Told to Reward

ONE scores Muay Thai and kickboxing round by round on the 10-Point Must system. Each round is judged on its own and the winner of the round takes 10 points. Where the tally comes out level, the judges apply the ONE Judging Criteria.

Those criteria run in a fixed order:

  • Knockdowns
  • Damage, split into internal, accumulated and superficial
  • Number of clean strikes
  • Aggression and ring generalship

The order is the useful part. Knockdowns sit above everything else, and volume sits below damage. Where a card comes out level, the fighter who landed more can still lose to the one who landed harder.

💡 Why a Single Knockdown Is Worth So Much Here
In a five-round fight a knocked-down fighter has four rounds to build a case. In a three-round fight they have two, and the thing that hurt them sits at the top of the criteria list. Live prices on a ONE Muay Thai bout react harder to a knockdown than the same knockdown would move a five-round stadium fight.

Round-by-round scoring by a panel of judges also means a level card is a real outcome. Draws happen in this format, and what a draw does to your stake depends entirely on which market you took. That is covered further down.

Every Friday Night at Lumpinee

ONE Friday Fights runs weekly on Fridays at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. If you see the card billed as ONE Lumpinee, that is the same show under its domestic name. Most of the card is three-round Muay Thai, with kickboxing and MMA filling out the rest.

The weekly slot is real, but it slips. The 2026 series ran from ONE Friday Fights 138 on 16 January through to 164 on 31 July, with occasional skipped weeks, so treat the fixture as weekly rather than guaranteed.

Two other names appear on the same calendar:

  • The Inner Circle is a members-only segment staged at the same Lumpinee Friday event, numbered on its own sequence. ONE Friday Fights 165 and The Inner Circle 25 shared the same Friday night at Lumpinee on 7 August 2026.
  • ONE Fight Night is a separate monthly card at the same venue, staged on Saturday morning Bangkok time so it lands in US primetime on the Friday night. ONE Fight Night 46 is set for 15 August 2026 in Bangkok. The headliner is a Women's Strawweight Muay Thai World Title fight, Stella Hemetsberger against Natalia Diachkova. It airs on Prime Video on 14 August in the US.
Muay Thai Fight Showing Kick

That last one matters when you go looking for the card. The same card can appear under two different dates depending on where the sportsbook sets its clock, so check the local start time in your account before you decide a market is missing. And note that the Fight Night headliner is a world title bout, which means five rounds while most of the card underneath it is three. Round markets that make no sense on the prelims are perfectly valid on the main event.

Which Lines Can Exist on a Three-Round Bout

Coverage varies by book, but the standard set on a ONE Muay Thai fight looks like this:

  • Fight winner. Offered as a two-way market at some books and a three-way at others. The difference decides what happens on a draw, and it is the most expensive detail on this page.
  • Method of victory. A Muay Thai bout realistically ends by knockout or stoppage, or on the judges' cards. There is no submission route, so the method market is narrower than it is on the MMA bouts sitting on the same card.
  • Total rounds, over or under. On a three-round fight the only lines with anything behind them are 1.5 and 2.5. Anything higher belongs to a five-round title bout.
  • Round betting. Which round the fight ends in. Three options plus the distance on a non-title bout, five plus the distance on a title fight.
  • Fight to go the distance. A yes needs the officially designated number of rounds to be fully completed.

Half rounds are where bettors misread totals. SBOBET's boxing rules state that on three-minute rounds, a stated half round means 1 minute 30 seconds of that round, and that is the point that decides over or under. So under 1.5 rounds needs the fight finished before the 90-second mark of round two. Not before round two starts, and not before it ends.

ONE FRIDAY FIGHTS ODDS

Prices on these cards move fast in the days before the event, and they show in different formats depending on the platform. The same price appears as 1.85 in decimal and 0.85 in Hong Kong odds. Fix the format in your account before the card starts. If handicap and format mechanics are new, our guide to how Asian odds formats work starts from the beginning, and the wider combat sports markets page covers what else gets priced on a fight card.

Draws, No Contests and Changed Round Counts

This is the part almost no Muay Thai betting page covers, and it is the part that costs money.

SBOBET publishes its boxing settlement rules openly, and they are worth reading because most Asian-facing books work from similar principles:

  • A fight is deemed to have started when the bell sounds for the beginning of round one.
  • In two-way markets a draw voids all bets and stakes are returned. That includes a majority draw. Three-way markets price the draw as its own outcome, so if you want a draw to pay rather than refund, you have to be on the three-way market.
  • A No Contest voids all bets and returns stakes, except for markets whose outcome was already unconditionally determined.
  • If the number of rounds in a fight changes, round-betting bets already placed are void and stakes returned.
  • Fight to go the distance settles as yes only when the officially designated rounds are fully completed.

That fourth point is not theoretical on a ONE card. Bouts get reshuffled, a scheduled title fight can lose its belt status, and a three-round bout can be promoted. Your fight winner bet survives that. Your round bet does not.

One caveat matters more than the rules themselves. Those clauses come from SBOBET's boxing section. SBOBET's rules document carries separate Mixed Martial Arts and Muay Thai sections, and SBOBET lists ONE Championship under Mixed Martial Arts rather than under a Muay Thai heading, so do not assume the boxing wording carries across without checking. CMD368, Saba Sports and BTi Sports each set their own terms, and their rule pages are harder to reach from outside an account. Find the combat sports rules inside your own account and read the draw clause on the morning of the card.

The Weigh-In Is Part of the Bet

ONE does not run a standard boxing weigh-in. Athletes log a declared walking weight and must pass a urine specific gravity hydration test at 1.025 or below, with the weigh-in itself sitting 24 to 48 hours before the event.

The testing window has teeth. An athlete who fails to make weight or pass hydration inside the first hour of a three-hour window is fined 20% of their contracted purse. If they pass within the remaining two hours the bout still goes ahead, and the fine is donated to a charity chosen by their opponent.

Fights genuinely die at this stage. Petchtanong against Nabil Anane at ONE Fight Night 26 was cancelled after Petchtanong failed hydration and missed weight. Sometimes it is the bet that dies rather than the fight. At ONE Friday Fights 147, Asadula Imangazaliev failed hydration before a vacant flyweight Muay Thai title fight with Nong-O Hama. The bout still ran and he won it by knockout in round two. But the failed test had already made him ineligible for the belt, so the title stayed vacant, and anyone backing him to leave as champion was beaten at the weigh-in rather than in the ring. And in November 2024, Rodtang Jitmuangnon was stripped of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title on the scale before ONE 169. He came in half a pound over the 135 lb flyweight limit, then failed hydration on his second attempt inside the window. The belt stayed vacant into 2026.

🔴 Check the Weigh-In Results Before You Stake
Weigh-in and hydration results come out the day before the card. A cancelled bout takes your bet with it, but a catchweight bout usually still runs, and it is not the fight you priced. One fighter has been through a failed cut and the weight gap you assumed no longer exists. If you placed early, look again on fight morning rather than finding out at the bell.

What a US$100,000 Contract Does to a Card

Friday Fights pays out more than a purse. A standout win on it earns a US$100,000 ONE Championship contract, awarded on the night. Performance bonuses are paid separately, and they are not small: Nieky Holzken took US$50,000 for his knockout of Sinsamut at ONE Friday Fights 100.

US$100,000
ONE contract awarded on the night for a standout win at ONE Friday Fights

The pathway is real, which is why fighters take it seriously. Imangazaliev and Aslamjon Ortikov both came through Friday Fights on contract wins, and in June 2026 they met at The Inner Circle 20 for the vacant flyweight Muay Thai world title, the first time two undefeated ONE Friday Fights contract winners had fought for a belt.

Put the incentives together before you price a prelim. Nine minutes of fighting, 4-ounce gloves, and a six-figure contract handed out for the performance rather than the points margin. A fighter in that position has little reason to bank a quiet decision. That is a reason to look hard at method and totals markets rather than only the fight winner.

Stadium Muay Thai Is a Different Bet Entirely

Traditional stadium Muay Thai is five rounds of three minutes with two-minute breaks, and it is scored with a set of conventions that have nothing to do with ONE.

Round one is a feeling-out round, frequently scored even. Rounds three and four carry the most weight, and a fighter clearly ahead will often coast through round five rather than risk anything. In the stadium gambling pits, odds are called by hand signal and reset continuously as the fight goes on, which is exactly why fighters start slowly. A mistake in round one moves the price against them for the rest of the night.

None of that transfers. On a three-round ONE bout, round three is the last round, not the round where the fight is decided. Advice built on waiting for the middle rounds is five-round advice, and most Muay Thai betting pages still repeat it.

The other piece of stadium folklore worth retiring is the betting itself. Gambling is banned inside Lumpinee Stadium. The ban dates from the post-COVID clean-up and the September 2022 partnership between ONE Championship, Lumpinee Stadium and the Royal Thai Army. Rajadamnern World Series does not permit gambling at its Saturday events either. Lumpinee is now the exception among Bangkok stadiums rather than the example, so a reader betting online on a ONE Lumpinee card is not watching a lesser version of the pit action. For that card, they are the only bettor in the building.

RWS is worth knowing about separately, because it moved in the same direction ONE did. It introduced the first three-round fights at Rajadamnern, with title bouts still at five, and it runs open scoring, showing the judges' scores after every round. Every round must have a winner, and judges weigh output, accuracy and power equally. Our page on Muay Thai betting in Thailand covers the domestic scene around both promotions.

Finding These Cards on an Asian Sportsbook

Start in the MMA tree. That is where SBOBET files its ONE Championship section. Books that follow the same structure will bury a Friday Fights card under MMA, so a reader searching the boxing tree concludes it is not listed when it is.

A few other things are worth checking before you commit to a book for a fight week:

  • Whether the card is listed at all. Weekly coverage of Friday Fights is not guaranteed anywhere. Open the combat sports section during fight week rather than assuming last week's listing repeats.
  • Market depth on prelims. Main events get the full set. Undercard bouts are often listed with fight winner alone, which removes the totals and method angles that suit this format.
  • How many books your account gives you. FUN88 carries BTi, CMD368, SABA Sports and INPLAYMATRIX in one account, and BK8 carries BK8-Sports, CMD368, Saba Sports and SBOBET, so a price can usually be compared without opening a second account, though which of the four you get depends on your country. The FUN88 review covers the Thai side of that in more detail.
  • Live pricing between rounds. A three-round fight gives you two one-minute breaks and nothing else. A book that lags in play is unusable on a card this short.
⚠️ Offshore Betting and Local Law
Thailand's Gambling Act 1935 prohibits most gambling. Betting on boxing at licensed stadiums is one of the narrow exceptions and needs a Ministry of Interior permit, alongside the state lottery and licensed horse racing. Thailand has been consulting on amendments that would allow some regulated online betting, so the position is moving. Every sportsbook EightOdds recommends holds an international offshore licence. Rules across the region have been changing, so check the current position where you are based before you open an account or deposit.

Two checks take thirty seconds each. Look at the weigh-in results from the day before, and confirm whether the bout you are betting is scheduled for three rounds or five before you touch a round or totals market. Our list of betting sites in Thailand is a starting point for finding a book that carries the cards week to week.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many rounds is a Muay Thai fight at ONE Championship?
Non-title Muay Thai bouts at ONE are three rounds of three minutes with a one-minute break between rounds. World Championship bouts are five rounds of three minutes. That is why round markets above three do not exist on most of a ONE Friday Fights card, even though five-round markets are standard in traditional stadium Muay Thai.
What happens to my bet if a ONE Muay Thai fight ends in a draw?
It depends on which market you took. In a two-way market, SBOBET's boxing rules void all bets and return stakes on a draw, including a majority draw. A three-way market prices the draw as its own selection, so it pays rather than refunds. Since ONE scores round by round with a panel of judges, level cards are a genuine outcome and worth planning for.
Is ONE Lumpinee the same event as ONE Friday Fights?
Yes. They are the domestic and international names for the same weekly Friday show at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. The Inner Circle is a members-only segment staged at the same event with its own numbering. ONE Fight Night is a different, monthly card at the same venue, run on Saturday morning Bangkok time to reach US primetime.
What happens to a fight if a ONE fighter fails the hydration test?
The bout can be cancelled outright, moved to a catchweight, or go ahead unchanged if the athlete passes later in the three-hour testing window. A fighter who misses weight or hydration in the first hour is fined 20% of their contracted purse, and that fine goes to a charity chosen by their opponent. Cancellations are real, and results are published the day before the card.
Can you still bet at Lumpinee Stadium in person?
No. Gambling is banned inside Lumpinee, dating from the post-COVID clean-up and the 2022 partnership between ONE Championship, Lumpinee Stadium and the Royal Thai Army. Rajadamnern World Series does not permit gambling at its events either. The hand-signal pit betting described on many Muay Thai pages does not happen at either venue now.
Why does ONE use 4-ounce gloves for Muay Thai?
ONE runs its Muay Thai bouts in 4-ounce MMA gloves rather than traditional boxing gloves. Kickboxing on the same card uses 8-ounce gloves at bantamweight and below and 10-ounce at featherweight and above. Two fights on the same night, over the same three rounds, can therefore carry very different amounts of padding.
Where do sportsbooks list ONE Championship Muay Thai fights?
Usually under Mixed Martial Arts rather than under Muay Thai or boxing. SBOBET, for example, carries a dedicated ONE Championship section filed under MMA. If you cannot find a card, check the MMA tree before concluding your book does not cover it, and check again during fight week, because weekly coverage of Friday Fights varies.
