What Asian Handicap Betting Is
Asian Handicap removes the draw from a football match. Every bet settles as a win or a loss. The draw result does not affect your bet.
The handicap is applied to one team before kick-off. A negative handicap means that team must win by more than the spread. A positive handicap means that team can lose by a certain margin and your bet still wins.
For example:
- Barcelona -1 means Barcelona must win by 2 or more goals for your bet to win. A 1-0 win is a push. Your stake is returned.
- Getafe +1 means Getafe can lose by up to 1 goal and your bet still wins. A 1-0 loss is a push.
Lines can also use quarter-ball values: 0.25, 0.75, 1.25, and so on. These lines add a third possible result. With Barcelona -0.75, if Barcelona wins by 2 or more goals, your bet wins. If Barcelona wins by exactly 1 goal, your bet wins half. If Barcelona draws or loses, your bet loses.
Most football betting across Asia uses Asian Handicap lines. It removes one outcome from the market and usually offers better value than a standard win-draw-win bet.
What Over/Under Betting Is
Over/Under is a bet on the total number of goals in a match. The line is set before kick-off. You pick Over if you expect more goals than the line, or Under if you expect fewer.
For example:
- Over 2.5 means the match must finish with 3 or more goals for your bet to win.
- Under 2.5 means the match must finish with 2 or fewer goals for your bet to win.
Asian-style Over/Under lines use the same quarter-ball structure.
With Over/Under 2.75, if the match ends with 4 or more goals, your bet wins. If the match ends with exactly 3 goals, your bet wins half. If the match ends with 2 or fewer goals, your bet loses.
Over/Under does not depend on which team wins. It only depends on the total goals scored. That makes it a different angle from Asian Handicap on the same match.
Reading the Tips Table
Each tip shows the match, the selection, the odds at time of posting and a confidence rating.
The confidence rating runs from one to five stars. Five stars is the highest conviction pick of the day. One star is a lower conviction pick where the data supports the selection but the edge is smaller. The Star Pick badge marks the top pick of the day when one has been identified.
The odds shown are the odds at the time the tip was posted. Lines can move between posting and kick-off. Check the current odds at your sportsbook before placing.
Result codes for settled tips are explained in the Result Guide on this page.
