What Is TrueMoney Wallet
TrueMoney is a Thai e-wallet owned by Ascend Money, part of the Charoen Pokphand group. It launched in 2014 and is now one of the most widely used digital wallets in Thailand, with over 30 million users across Southeast Asia.
For gambling deposits, TrueMoney has three things that matter:
- Instant: Deposits land in your casino or sportsbook account within seconds.
- THB: You deposit in Thai baht directly. No currency conversion, no exchange fees.
- No bank account required: TrueMoney can be topped up with cash at any TrueMoney Counter or 7-Eleven. You do not need a Thai bank account to use it.
PromptPay links directly to a bank account. TrueMoney is a standalone wallet. You fund the wallet separately and spend from it. This makes it the more flexible option for players who prefer to keep their gambling deposits separate from their main bank.
Most online casinos and sportsbooks accepting Thai players list TrueMoney in their cashier. It is accepted alongside PromptPay at most platforms, not instead of it.
Topping Up Your TrueMoney Wallet
Before you can deposit at a casino or sportsbook, your TrueMoney Wallet needs to have a balance. This is the step that is different from bank-linked methods like PromptPay, where money moves directly from your account.
There are three ways to add funds to your TrueMoney Wallet:
TrueMoney Counter or 7-Eleven
The most common top-up route for cash users. Go to any 7-Eleven in Thailand or a TrueMoney Counter location, give the cashier your registered phone number, hand over cash and the balance is added within seconds. No bank account or card needed.
Online Banking Transfer
Log in to your Thai bank app (Krungthai, Bangkok Bank, SCB, Kbank and others are supported) and transfer directly to your TrueMoney account using your registered phone number. Credited instantly.
Debit or Credit Card
Top up inside the TrueMoney Wallet app using a Thai debit or credit card. Takes seconds and the balance is available immediately.
Wallet balance limit
Unverified TrueMoney accounts hold a maximum of THB 2,000. After completing identity verification inside the app, the limit rises to THB 50,000. If you plan to deposit larger amounts regularly, complete the in-app verification first.
TrueMoney or PromptPay: Which One to Use
Both are accepted at most online casinos and sportsbooks in Thailand that take Thai players. The difference is in how money moves.
TrueMoney is a wallet. You top it up first, then spend from it. The wallet balance sits separately from your bank. Deposits go from wallet to gambling account, not directly from your bank.
PromptPay links to your Thai bank account. There is no separate wallet. You scan a QR code and the money transfers straight from your bank to the casino or sportsbook.
Use TrueMoney if you want to keep gambling deposits separate from your main bank account, prefer to use cash at 7-Eleven, or do not have a Thai bank account.
Use PromptPay if you have a Thai bank account and want to skip the wallet top-up step. The transfer goes directly from your bank with no extra step in between.
Most Thai players who gamble online have both options available. TrueMoney adds one step but keeps the transaction out of your bank statement. PromptPay is faster if your bank account is already linked and funded.
How to Make a TrueMoney Deposit
The process is the same whether you are depositing at an online casino or a sportsbook. It takes under two minutes.
- Log in and go to the cashier. Look for Deposit or Wallet in the top menu or your account area.
- Select TrueMoney Wallet as your payment method. Most cashiers list it by name. Some show it under Thai e-wallets.
- Enter the deposit amount. Check the minimum before typing. Most platforms set it between THB 100 and THB 300 for TrueMoney deposits.
- Scan the QR code or enter the reference number. The cashier will generate a QR code or a payment reference. Open your TrueMoney Wallet app, tap Pay and scan the code. If a reference number is shown instead, enter it manually in the app.
- Confirm the payment in the TrueMoney app. Check the amount and merchant name, then enter your PIN to approve.
- Wait for confirmation. Funds appear in your account within seconds. You will receive a notification from the TrueMoney app and a confirmation on the casino or sportsbook page.
How to Avoid Withdrawal Delays
Before you register at any casino or sportsbook, check the name shown in your TrueMoney Wallet profile. That name must match your account registration exactly.
Two names need to match:
- The name on your TrueMoney Wallet account
- The name on your casino or sportsbook account
If they do not match, your withdrawal will be held until you complete identity verification. This is the most common reason Thai players wait days for a payout that should take hours.
Common mismatches that cause problems: using a nickname instead of your legal name, registering with an English name that does not match your TrueMoney profile, or transliterating your Thai name differently across accounts.
Open the TrueMoney app and check your profile name before signing up at any platform. Use the same spelling exactly. Most platforms do not allow name changes after registration. If you registered with the wrong name, contact support before placing your first withdrawal.
Withdrawal times
TrueMoney withdrawals at most casinos and sportsbooks process within 1 to 24 hours. Your first withdrawal takes longer because the platform runs identity verification before releasing funds. After the first withdrawal clears, later payouts are faster.

Wallet Limits and What to Do If a Deposit Fails
TrueMoney Wallet limits
The daily spending limit for verified TrueMoney accounts is THB 50,000. If you plan to deposit more than this in a single day, split the deposits across multiple days or use PromptPay or a bank transfer instead.
If your deposit fails
The money left your TrueMoney Wallet but did not arrive in your account. Open the TrueMoney app and find the transaction. Copy the reference number and contact the casino or sportsbook support team with it. They can trace the transfer and credit your account manually.
The payment was declined before leaving your wallet. Check your wallet balance and confirm you have not hit your daily spending limit. If the QR code timed out, go back to the cashier and generate a new one.
The platform is not accepting TrueMoney at the moment. Wait a few minutes and try again. If it keeps failing, switch to PromptPay or contact support.
